💡REMINDERS
1. Healthy and dry snacks
2. No Birthday Treat Policy - We practice no birthday treats inside the classroom to avoid students feeling left out, among other reasons. You can feel free celebrating your child's birthday outside the school. Thank you!
📕 READING: Starting September 4th, we will welcome parent volunteers into the classroom and begin daily reading and sight word practice at school and at home. Until then, we encourage you to continue reading with your child at home. If your child was at ACC in Kindergarten, please send in their reading bag. If you are new to the school, please order one through the school website (https://archwaychandler.greatheartsamerica.org/book-supply-lists/).
📕 SCIENCE: Students listened to "First Day Jitters" and made their own jitter juice. They practiced their observation and other skills in performing an experiment.
📕 LITERATURE: The students enjoyed reading and discussing two favorite Back-To-School stories by Kevin Henkes. After reading Wemberly Worried, we created a class quilt about our feelings on the first day of school.
We learned a lot today how to perform classroom procedures and be more independent in packing, unpacking and taking care of their supplies. We hope you could follow it up at home too. They will also bring home Take Home folders daily, so be sure to check them every day to see if they have homework or information to keep at home or send back to class. Please make sure the folders are empty when they head back to school.
Thanks so much for all you do. As always, let us know if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to a great first week and a wonderful year ahead with you all!
Sincerely,
Your very excited First Grade Teachers!
